ABBA

is an acronym formed from the initial letters of the names of the group´s members, Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad.
Abba existed from around 1970 to 1982, although they've never officially "split up".
Björn and Agnetha were married from 1971 to 1978 and had two children, Benny and Frida were married from 1978 to 1981.

ABBA is usually categorized simply as pop music, but their style varied over the years quite a lot, and was clearly influenced by folk, rock and disco. Some of their most famous songs are The Winner Takes It All, Super Trouper, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight), Ring Ring, SOS, Fernando, Mamma Mia and Thank You for the Music. They won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with the song Waterloo. Their music has remained popular over the decades and has recently gained a lot of attention due to the 2008 hit movie Mamma Mia! and Madonna's hit single "Hung Up" that samples Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
